Lorna Mills featuring Kes Lake
(Toronto / Transfer Gallery)
Lorna Mills has been a staple of Canadian visual art since the early 1990s. Her oeuvre has evolved from early experiments with Super-8 and painting to more recent work with GIFs, where she incorporates online ephemera and technology into "offline" installation works. She's exhibited work at The Whitney, Times Square, The Canadian Embassy in Berlin and Transfer Gallery in New York. Her GIFs provide visual accompaniment for Toronto nonbinary multimedia artist Kes Lake, who makes lively, overdriven, glam-inspired weirdo electronic pop music.
